If you want to know why I stopped focusing on terminology it is this....
Gender queer
Non-binary
Gender non-conforming
Bigender
Agender
Gender fluid
Genderqueer
If you asked different people what these terms mean, you would not unexpectedly get slightly different answers. Some might even shake their head and have no idea at all.
These terms and undoubtedly more I may have missed, replaced what were ostensibly only two terms of transvestite and transsexual from the early to mid 20th century. It should be said that most of the terminology I showed are for people in various stages of transition and expression and not binary transsexuals (some of whom now use transgender woman as identifier).
The reason for this terminology expansion is that humans are complex creatures as are their feelings and when you liberate them socially they will try and apply labels to describe themselves as well as to find kindred spirits.
Therefore, rather than get mired in terminology, I now only consider and reflect on two key aspects:
1) source or primary motivation for gender variance
2) how it is lived
That's it.
