Wait and see

The vast majority of feminine men and masculine women do not ever question birth sex. This is why I am inclined to think that gender dysphoria is its own unique variable likely with a biological source. That there may be additional sociological factors during childhood development is also possible.

Gender dysphoric people typically trace their gender incongruence back to childhood although not all were able to verbalize it. This was especially true for those of us who grew up before we had developped proper language for what we were experiencing.

Today we pick up more quickly on early cross gender behaviour but could potentially misdiagnose a phase for gender dysphoria. For this reason, I am an advocate for a wait and see attitude and although I fully support medical care for those who need it, there is nothing wrong with allowing these kids name changes and living in another gender role until they are more certain of a path forward.

The hunt for red October

"You're not a woman!" says the transphobe vociferously to which I say okay and stop there. I personally do not argue for it.  ...
