Purse strings

The reason there isn't social justice in the world is that the people who control the purse strings don't want it. They may not form part of the majority but they are the ones who hold sway with the major corporations and institutions and the rest of us need to suffer the consequences of their decisions.

The myth of the global economy is that it works for the betterment of all whereas in truth we haven't advanced nearly enough from serfdom. The idea isn't to have equality of outcome but rather of opportunity except that this is also a myth as most wealth is handed down among families who already possess it. This is certainly the case in the US.

Money does not bring happiness and yet if the stomach is empty and there is no roof overhead, it can go a long way towards making us miserable.
