"Alice, Darling" is about abuse. No, not the physical kind but more of the mental anguish variety.
Simon controls Alice but she has somehow bought into it. She is convinced he loves her but something doesn't feel right because there are panic attacks and she pulls small tufts of her hair out. She is trying to be perfect for someone who exerts his judgement on her every move and pronouncement.
When she lies to him about a girl's trip is when things begin to be revealed to others and ultimately to herself.
On Netflix and recommended.
