Tax cuts for the rich, reduction of social security, medicaid and maybe ACA coverage plus tariffs (if they are indeed followed through with) will be disastrous for the average American citizen. Unfortunately many voters did not realize or believe this is what they were getting with their Trump vote. 

Many will come to regret doing so or bizarrely, will double down just to "own the libs" 

When you blind poll people regarding his policies the results are that they are very unpopular which should hardly surprise. Attach them to Trump and suddenly things change. There is no rational explanation for this.

It's been attributed to Churchill that he once said "the best argument against democracy is to spend five minutes with the average voter" 

Whether he said it or not, it isn't wrong. Good thing then that Trump's own natural stupidity and arrogance will be assets towards undoing his own objectives.
