Rewiring the brain is possible but it takes effort. The more we are entrenched in a way of thinking and doing, the more difficult the change will be. For older people it can be particularly challenging to break habits and form new neural pathways which could improve our life quality.
Of course transgender people are a great example of needing to break childhood programming to achieve authenticity but everyone on this planet has habitual patterns they could break and in do doing improve wellness.
The only way is to challenge preconceived ideas and examine them carefully. Why we feel the need to persist with them must be studied and we can test making small changes to see whether benefits arise in our new psychology. If we are correct in our change, the improvements should make themselves known bit by bit.
The examined life will be more fruitful than the one not being evaluated and fine tuned.
