The root of things

If we are not self reliant life will constantly disappoint us; this once we discover that many of us are self centered and our true selves don't match the public personna.

By now I am a good detector of authenticity and it doesn't take me too long to read through a facade. This contrasts sharply to the beginning of my career when I was more apt to take people at face value. This is not necessarily cause to feel despondent about humanity however but instead to allow us to make better connections with the people who truly align with us.

Life isn't a game of balanced reciprocity but instead an often unfair exercise which when better understood can allow us to get directly to the root of things and avoid wasted time.
