Double whammy

I've discovered another little gem of a cafe; this time downtown. Their allonge machiatto is terrific plus they open at 7 am which is perfect for this early bird. I usually prefer places that are a little more quaint but the quality of the coffee plus the friendly Mexican owner makes it worthy of being added to my list of places to frequent.

The thing about retirement is that you have an embarrassment of riches in terms of time with no specific life goals and plenty of space for reflection. It is one of the reasons I post often.

It is not obvious to begin a new life and yet I am going to enjoy this freedom more and more because I was a slave to both time and obligation for many years. As a transgender person who tried from earliest memory to strike a precarious balance between two worlds, I have the double whammy of adjusting on two significant fronts and yet I wouldn't have it any other way as I had trained myself for years to have strict discipline I can now let go of.

It is simply that much better by comparison.

Alberta gender policy

Premier Danielle Smith didn't invite Tucker Carlson to Alberta to speak because she runs a progressive government. As cautious as I like...
