Sea legs

After one full year of retirement I can feel there have been significant changes in my psychology and can tell there is more progress to come. Living more authentically can have its small ups and downs because you are still finding your new balance as you continue to deal with lived history. It is not at all an obvious process and everyone will be unique in this regard.

I always maintain that asking to be a transgender person is like deliberately wanting a more challenging life. However, even if our element of choice is removed, our work must be to embrace the cross-gender identification with the appropriately measured response; a process which is often trial and error and can contain numerous pitfalls.

It can feel like constantly trying to find your sea legs.
