Why psychology is so important

Our minds are our most important tool. The way we perceive the world and our interaction with people stems from our thought patterns which then help us dictate our actions. How we process and react to information decides what kind of an individual we are.

Small wonder then that so many of our problems stem from mental traumas and faulty ways of viewing ourselves or others. It is why examining the psyche is the most important thing we can do to help lead more balanced lives.

This introspection must include very earnest examination of why we think in certain ways. Our conclusions about who we are must be studied under a microscope if we are to eliminate blockages to mental wellness. As we gain life experience we have hopefully gained wisdom about certain aspects of life and decided which ones merit our attention.

For transgender people an examination of the psyche is even more crucial since we do not readily fit within a predetermined societal script. Knowing what is true about us and what isn't needs to be weighed so we can find personal truth. This includes being prepared to abandon mythologies which may be popular but may lack veracity which is why avoiding group think can be so important.

When we strike personal truth it will ultimately lead us to the right place.

"You're not a woman!" says the transphobe vociferously to which I say okay and stop there. I personally do not argue for it.  ...
