I was browsing through the racks and suddenly I was at physical loggerheads with a lady about my age (maybe younger). I apologized before I attempted to move past her saying that I take up a lot of real estate being tall.
She looked at me and said "never apologize for being who you are"
After that we chatted briefly and compared notes on a dress she was considering before each of us moved on.
She couldn't have been more spot on.
I waited much too long, thinking that I needed to ask permission to be myself; damned if I'm now going to apologize!
ReplyDeleteNever! We just have that damned Canadian habit of excusing ourselves for everything;))
