The idea that America can remain a democracy is in peril. When you have forces pushing from within towards theocratic autocracy you know you have a fight on your hands. The dissatisfied masses who are increasingly financially poorer have been sold the idea that its not unbridled capitalism that is the problem but instead cultural "wokeness".
Many people don't understand the true forces that are at play in the world and the power structures that make them run. You want to keep the illusion of democracy running while in reality large corporations and special interest groups drive much of the legislative agenda. It would be nice to see a world free from deceit and greed and governments truly work for the betterment of their societies. Some of these experiments do work better than others but currently America faces its biggest challenge since its inception. Late stage capitalism has created a scenario where you have little wiggle room and a population who has given up on the dream they were once sold.
For the middle class has kept on dwindling in numbers and now their children are worse off than they were and cannot afford rent never mind real estate. Something eventually has to give and it will.
