Barometer

When it comes to testing if we are on the right track, the only barometers we have are our mental health and sense of well-being with whatever solution we find, hopefully increasing both.

If our gender dysphoria is potent enough, the feed and starve cycle many of us are forced into stops working after a while and the stress builds to a point where another solution is sought. For many that solution may be transition.

But no matter our approach, we should see our levels of anxiety drop especially if we have calmed the peaks and valleys of dysphoria and euphoria. Some may miss the rush of euphoria which could be a sign that changing approach isn't right for them while others will feast in the sense of well-being and increased self-esteem.

The woman whose detransition video I featured felt less well overall because she had adopted a narrative which did not fit with her core sense of identity. We will find much the same thing when we err and, as Ray Williams also found, the wrong solution will not make us more mentally balanced or peaceful in the long run which is why he detransitioned. However what does not work for some can work for others.
