Today I guard my identity fiercely. It took me decades to come to a clear understanding of it and I'll be damned if will bargain it away. It would be like asking me "could you be a little less who you are?" which is entirely nonsensical to me at this point in my life.
I will compromise on things to do, what to eat, when to go to bed, etc but never on who I am.
