The holiday season can make some of us a little depressed. Pressure to conform to family expectations can derail us and encourage us to perform like seals. The best therapy for this is to remove ourselves from the demands of feeling obligated.
As I age I am getting much better at centering myself amidst any chaos which might surround me. At the global level we are going through crisis after crisis and my friends and colleagues are fighting through their own challenges.
We want our minds to be still inside the storm. We are not removed physically but we have grounded ourselves in such a way that we are less affected by the volatility which surrounds us.
We calm the spirit and breathe slowly while trying to maintain perspective about all things.
