Today everyone lives with stress. Our baseline level has increased because the level of uncertainty has and this is across all ages. In particular it is youth that has trepidation about whether they even have a stable future ahead.
In the 1980's this wasn't so much a concern and we felt we had more solid options. I ended up in a career with no pauses or layoffs while today youth might expect to change careers more than once.
I speak to everyone and get the pulse of how people are feeling. GenZ in particular is anxious about getting their lives kick started. My daughter at 27 is no exception and after already one change of direction she worries about stability.Yesterday I told her to take things one day at a time and not spend needless energy with worry as she is in good company world wide.
Things will need to be remade in such a drastic fashion that the world I used to know will all but disappear.
I imagine myself being born in the 1860's and witnessing life into the 1920's. The shock value would have been substantial.
