After making a deal with the EU (not yet on paper) suddenly Trump hits Switzerland with a 39% tariff announced via social media. The fact that this lunacy has been normalized is the problem.
To get even with another country of 9 million people, Trump wants to charge his own population 39% more because this smaller country buys less from a larger country? This is how idiots deal with trade imbalances.
Europe would do well to just leave deals with a madman behind and make arrangements with other nations while America learns its lesson for having elected him not once but twice.
