Both my children are overthinkers. Perhaps it's genetic but I tell them that in the long run it will pay off. It will help them to make sense of their place in an often non-sensical world.
The next few decades will be messy and, as we have seen, human stupidity will take front row center as the population experiences the chaos of a world re-imagined.
I saw a story recently on AI psychosis where people were going down a rabbit hole after using chatGPT as a form of problem counselor. They ended up in crisis mode and sought help to get out of the ensuing trauma. This is how hungry people are for solutions to their anxiety and depression.
We are looking for replacements for the stability we once had. That world didn't work for everyone especially the disenfranchised, but at least the people most susceptible to panic were kept feeling safe. They didn't need to work on their psychology as much when their economics were stable and they were told what to do and how to behave.
I know many simple minded people and they aren't unkind or evil but they depend on solid footing which, once removed, can send them into quiet desperation when there is too much grey afoot.
