Stepping away

When you retire you develop an even more expansive view of life. Not only do you have more time to reflect but the bonus of experience gives you a new ability to focus. You see the world for what it is much better than when you were mired trying to keep up with its frantic pace. 

You are now trying to understand how you were able to live inside that box for so long and endure its worst instincts. Of course you had no choice and now you make the connection in your mind as to how adept humans are at becoming chameleons. We blend into our surroundings while knowing to step carefully around the toxicity. 

In a sense stepping away from it requires healing and a return to a version of yourself before you were programmed to accept what you were sold.
