Baseline

Life appears to be random. Stray bullets hit innocent bystanders, children are stricken with cancer and some are born into what appears at a distance to be a horseshoe up the rear. Of course there is always more than meets the eye but certainly life doesn't appear to be balanced or fair. Despite clean and honorable living we are suddenly met with horrific news which shock us to our core.

If I've learned anything it is to live one day at a time and count on nothing as a given. We enjoy the moment and plan with the knowledge that all may go astray at the drop of a hat.

This should perhaps strangely provide us comfort because it removes pressure to be all things to all people in a world which seems to embrace disorder as preferred baseline.
