Yes, I am retired and yet all my correspondence as a consultant is devoid of a first name and instead has a sole J. My birth name starts with the same letter which allows me to feel I am respecting identity while not coming out to the entire firm of 10,000.

Many know of course but those are my friends and allies and were I 40 today I would have transitioned on the job. Being so close to the end of my career had me seriously reflect on what to do and whether I wanted to trumpet to the world a process I was still in the midst of fine tuning.

It's worked out very well.
