How do we know what is good for us? Well we don't always. Some people are abused as children and then go on to marry abusers. It is what we are used to and our normal but not what is good.
What I used to think was good for me no longer is. Much of my life was fine of course but certain assumptions I had made about who I was were erroneous and it took much mental heavy lifting to figure it out.To understand what is good for us requires that we get to the root of what ails. When there is something unresolved we will know it deep down but perhaps suppress it because it is inconvenient to face. However if left untreated it tends to fester.
We want and need resolution and get help as necessary.
