Why it's so difficult

Think about it. Gender is the most fundamental building block of society since we have been on this planet. Roles were sacrosanct and were prescribed by birth. There were no questions to be posed.

So when transgender people are born they face an immediate dilemma of how to deal with early cross gender feelings in a world that doesn't know what to make of them. They also bristle against what God supposedly wants except they had no say in the matter as they are born and not made. It has easily been the challenge of my lifetime and then some.

Finding your way in this world is like going through a minefield with barb wire added for good measure. Everything conspires against you succeeding in finding comfort in your identity.

So we don't question why it's hard but simply marvel, despite the difficulties, at the ways we find to somehow thrive.
