Technically speaking I am transsexual and always have been. I just needed to find a way around it.
Trying to circumvent my reality would sound strange to the young transitioners in their twenties I met with on Skype some months back but then they didn't carry all the stigma that I had to. Getting to where I am today might not be good enough for them but to me it's a major victory for someone born in 1962 with the weight of Catholicism on their shoulders.Today I met with my friend Marcela who has no idea that I wasn't born female. This is one of the reasons I stopped advancing further because I simply did not need to in order to live my life authentically. A few years ago the endocrinologist Dr Morris asked me point blank if I could live happily without medical transition and I said yes. He was happy to hear it.
Marcela and I spent a lovely time together as we always do and I felt so calm and comfortable because I am in a good place. Life isn't meant to be perfect but we can certainly make it work for us.
