Experiments

While I don't believe in "transgender as contagion" as sold by some criticals, I do acknowledge that more people than ever experiment with their gender expression. 

Sure enough, on a recent call-in-show, a father was explaining to the transgender hosts how a friend of his transgender daughter had begun to play with gender through their association. It may not have been deeply rooted but it felt right for them and was eventually dropped but it certainly need not have been. 

This issue bears no consequence on tending to the dysphoria of transgender people whose numbers remain miniscule as a percentage of the total population. 

As gender variance becomes more visible, this experimentation shows how definitions can become broader and more diluted which could confuse many people. It demonstrates how gender variance can have multiple motivations many of which are ostensibly harmless provided the person is aware of what it means for them.
