Trauma free

I notice the ponytails in front me at the cash but the voice was a little deep and then realize she is transgender after my radar is fully functional. My friend and I had come for brunch and I very discreetly point her out to him in admiration. 

These kids are trauma free and I note how some of them don't worry about the old binary all that much. She was dressed much like my daughter once would with an oversize checkered shirt, jean shorts with wrist bands adorned arms and sneakers. Maybe in her early 20's, she was with another girl who was perhaps her girlfriend.

She sits at a table far enough away where I can note the calm and complete lack of unecessary self-awareness.

All I can think is God bless them.
