What we think we need versus what we actually do isn't an obvious thing to decipher. What we really need involves tapping directly into the psyche whereas what we think we need is likely colored by what we have been taught to think is important to achieve happiness.
Many of us bought into a narrative of expectation and made decisions based on what we saw around us except that much of that turned out to be illusion. For the truth about the lives of people is not only what they show on the surface.Figuring out what constitutes your identity and therefore your true needs involves stripping away all societal messaging and obligation and deep diving into the psyche. Only then will we discover the difference between wants and our true essential needs.
