Crash

"Crash" simmers along with class and racial tension in tow. The stories of different people are all interwoven in a post 9/11 Los Angeles filled with uncertainty. Writer and director Paul Haggis has crafted a fine film with very human stories of anguish, heartbreak, redemption, cruelty and forgiveness and there are some scenes which truly unnerve and disturb.

We get to see how all the narratives connect and we realize how random things can sometimes be; how we are in need of constant reminders that we are such fragile and unpredictable creatures sometimes residing on that blurry dividing line between love and hate.

That it won the Oscar in 2005 for best picture is not that much of a surprise.
