Ashley

Ashley is the fiancee of one of my nephews. They live in Toronto and I knew she was a nurse but wasn't aware that she worked in a gender affirming clinic where they perform cosmetic surgeries excluding genital procedures. This includes facial procedures, breast augmentation and breast removal for their patients. 

We spoke for a while between the wedding and reception and unsurprisingly she confirmed that transgender youth show up there with far less trauma than older people. Typically those under 40 come with less baggage. 

This is the kind of clinic that didn't exist when I was younger. Only hospital gender clinics with gatekeeping for transsexuals wanting to transition were the norm.
